How to Apply

The foundation only accepts online applications, between Jan. 1 and Aug. 1. Once your online application is received, it will be forwarded to the appropriate Foundation Advisory Committee for review. The Advisory Committee will make a funding recommendation to the foundation. Every effort will be made to process applications in a timely manner, but please allow up to 90 days for a response to your application.

Note: Please apply between Jan. 1 and Aug. 1. We are not accepting unsolicited applications until Jan. 1, 2009. Please visit our site again at that time.


U.S. Grants

Step 1:  Before you begin, please review our Grant Guidelines and Eligibility requirements.

Step 2:  Obtain information required to complete and submit the application.

Step 3:  Apply between Jan. 1 and Aug. 1. The Foundation only accepts online applications.

Tips for Saving and Accessing Your Online Application:

  • The first time you attempt to save or submit an online application, you will be prompted to create an application account using your email address and a password. This account will contain copies of your in-progress or submitted grant application, which you can access at any time.
  • You may also wish to print a hard copy of the application for your records, or save it to your computer for future reference.
  • Please save the confirmation emails reminding you of the email and password you used to create your account, and the link to access your account (to return to your saved application or view your submitted application).
  • Once your application has been submitted, you will not have an opportunity to make changes or include attachments.
  • A link to log into your grant application account is also provided above (Log in to your grant application account–U.S. only). You might need to completely close and re-open your web browser for this link to take you to your application account.

Application Review Process and Grant Notification Schedule:

  • Applications received between Jan. 1 and Aug. 1 will be forwarded to the appropriate Foundation Advisory Committee for review. Advisory Committees will make funding recommendations to the foundation throughout the year and in some cases may defer making their recommendations until after they've had an opportunity to review all submitted proposals.
  • Grants are awarded in May, August and December.

Grant Amount: Grant amounts vary in scale in relationship to Weyerhaeuser's presence in the community or the Foundation's funding priorities. The minimum grant awarded is $2,500.

COMMUNITY AND STATEWIDE GRANTS

Grant applications for projects or programs serving Weyerhaeuser communities outside the Corporate Headquarters area in Federal Way, Washington, and state-wide projects in Weyerhaeuser's key states of Arkansas, California, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Oregon, South Carolina, and Washington.

PUGET SOUND REGION GRANTS

Grant applications for projects or programs serving Weyerhaeuser's Corporate Headquarters in Federal Way WA and surrounding Puget Sound communities:
